Amodh Nirala, P.E., M.ASCE
President
Amodh Nirala is Principal, Regional Team Leader and Senior Project Manager with CDMSmith. He oversees pool of engineers in the state of NY providing lasting and integrated solution to transportation problems. He has a history of diverse experience in providing technical direction and exceptional client service. His experience as a structural engineer and project manager includes project management of a large and complex inspection project, bridge and overhead sign inspection in several states, bridge structural condition assessment, load capacity determination, structural analysis of gusset plates, fatigue life analysis, bridge rehabilitation design, cost estimating, and retaining wall design.
Chris LaPorta, P.E., M.ASCE
President-Elect
Chris is a project engineer/manager with The Chazen Companies. He specializes in commercial and residential land development and drives projects from conception to completion. Chris obtained a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Masters in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo.
Sean Doyle, P.E., M.ASCE
Vice President
Sean Doyle is a structural engineer/bridge inspector at CDM Smith and is responsible for the inspection of numerous bridges in the NYSDOT Region 8 and has over 9 years of design and construction engineering experience. Sean obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Connecticut in 2010 and earned his Master’s Degree from Manhattan College in 2018.
Sean has been a member of ASCE since 2012 with the Connecticut Society of Engineers Branch. In 2019, Sean joined the Mid-Hudson branch.
Sean's goal is to exemplify a well-rounded individual in our field. He wishes to improve local communities through community service, promote values of honesty, integrity and hard work, and continue to support our field by mentoring future and young engineers.
Tammy Nosek, A.M.ASCE
Treasurer
Tammy is the Treasurer and Past President of the ASCE Mid-Hudson Branch. She has worked the last 20 years in the telecommunication industry and currently is a Construction Manager at Crown Castle. She manages construction activities in twenty two NY counties. She is an active volunteer and holds officer positions in three other organizations; Vice Regent of the DAR Quassaick Chapter, Treasurer of Winona Lake Fire Engine Co. #2 Ladies Auxiliary, Orange County Vice President of the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman Association Ladies Auxiliary, Member of the Orange County Volunteer Fireman Association Ladies Auxiliary and an Earth Angel with Angel Flight Northeast.

Rahul Verma, P.E., M.ASCE
West Point Student Chapter Faculty Advisor
Rahul Verma is an Assistant Professor of Civil at the USMA West Point, NY; and has a private consulting practice, Verma Engineering. Rahul obtained his Bachelor’s of Engineering at Michigan Technological University in 1996 and earned his Master’s Degree from Texas A&M University in 1999.
Rahul has been a member of ASCE since 2002 and active with the Mid-Hudson Branch since 2006 as a member of the Executive Board. He was Branch President from 2008 to 2010.
Rahul’s goals and visions is to be a steward of the natural environment and resources while developing engineering solutions to meet the evolving needs of our society.
Rahul’s volunteer work includes coordinating STEM Outreach events for USMA and at Cornwall Central High School.
TRUSTEES
William J. Frank, P.E., M.ASCE
Bill Frank is a past president and treasurer of the ASCE Mid -Hudson Branch and currently serves on the Branch Board as a Trustee. Bill is a registered professional engineer in six states, including New York, and has over 35 years experience in bridge engineering and heavy construction. He is currently the founder and President of a construction engineering firm bearing his name providing means and methods engineering to contractors in the northeast.
Shahin Ariaey-Nejad, P.E., M.ASCE
Region 1 Governor
Shahin has over 37 years of experience working on military, industrial facilities and bridges in Maryland, Virginia, New York and Alaska. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1982 and Master’s Degree from John’s Hopkins University and 1987.
Shahin has been a continuous member of ASCE since 1982 in addition to student membership from 1979 to 1982. He has been active with the Mid-Hudson Branch since 2004 and served as Branch President from 2006 to 2008, as a trustee up to the fall of 2019. In Fall of 2019 he was inducted as Region 1 Governor assigned to the Mohawk Hudson Section and Mid-Hudson Branch.
Shahin’s vision is hold and honor all the core values of the Society, to advance the profession of civil engineering, encourage young civil engineers of all backgrounds to seek membership in ASCE, and promote volunteerism and philanthropy.
Shahin’s most recent volunteer work includes Walkway Over the Hudson Historic Park plaque dedication celebration (10-2009), Walter Hoving & West Point Outreach Project (2012), assistance with the Putnam Valley Public Library Pedestrian Bridge Reconstruction (2016-2018), Cornwall High School Engineering Math Day (Stem activity) 2009 to 2019, Mid-Hudson Technical Societies Engineer’s Week Dinner Committee 2010 to 2016.

Mike is a Principal at Schnabel Engineering, Inc. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with over 30 years of progressive experience in engineering and consulting for civil works projects to Federal, Municipal, Industrial, Contractor and Private Clients. His project experience includes civil and geotechnical works, heavy construction, dams and water resources, flood damage reduction, navigation, transportation, and geo-environmental restoration. Mike’s professional experience spans many phases of project development and engineering, including: project planning, geo-diligence, investigations, analysis, design, peer-reviews, forensics, and construction-phase services and support.
